This bottle was given to me as a birthday gift (thank you, Rich, and Aurora). To me, this rye whiskey is OK. It has a mash bill of 95% premium rye and 5% barley. It’s matured in new charred oak barrels.

Nose: rye, sweet, vanilla
Palate: black pepper, spices, and rye
Finish: oak and rye
ABV: 46%

I found it to be slightly on the harsh side. Very heavy on the pepper which at times is tasty but slightly on the ashy side. This is coming from someone who really does enjoy rye whiskies. So, take it as you will. For me it’s not a daily drinker but will be great in mixed cocktails.
