Speyburn 10-Years

I’ve gotten into the habit of buying more whiskies in mini form and this was one of them. One, it saves me money (I purchase all my whiskies) and two, it’s easier than having a giant bottle of whisky collecting dust on your shelf if you end up not liking the juice.

This is a Speyside Scotch that is aged in American Oak ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks.

Nose: lemon and sherry
Palate: vanilla, toffee, citrus and hints of sherry
Finish: lightly sweet with a slight burn
ABV: 43%
Cost: $30 (regular sized bottle)

This whisky is creamy, clean, refreshing and lightly sweet. I like it! What I like most, it’s an easy sipper. I attribute that to the lower ABV. This can be an everyday drinker, but I also find it can also be a starter whisky.

Right from that first sip, you’ll pick up on that crisp taste that’ll make you want to go back for more. You also can’t go wrong with a whisky that is around $30. It’s good and affordable, a win win.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
