Blue Note Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Now let’s explore a distillery that is new to me – Blue Note. Blue Note is a Tennessee whiskey produced by B.R. Distilling Co. Interestingly, when I asked if they were new, they shared that they are not a new distillery, but it was only recently that they made their products available in Massachusetts. I must admit, in recent times, there have been very few Bourbons that have truly impressed me. Let’s see how this distillery fairs.

Juke Joint – Nose: oak and corn; Palate: vanilla, spices and fruit; Finish: spices, vanilla and oak; ABV: 46.5% Cost: $30-$40

Crossroads – Nose: vanilla and caramel; Palate: vanilla, cinnamon and honey; Finish: vanilla and spices; ABV 50% Cost: $40-$50

Juke Joint Uncut – Nose: Toffee, vanilla and spices; Palate: vanilla, spices, chocolate and fruit; Finish: light bite, oak and vanilla; ABV 57% Cost: $50-$60

Rye Whiskey – Nose: vanilla and spices; Palette: apples, rye, cinnamon and oak; Finish: vanilla and spices; ABV 46.5% Cost: $35

Color me surprised! I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these whiskies. It wasn’t just one or two, but all four of these truly did impress me. Even the rye whiskey was exceptional. The rye flavor was present but not overpowering, and it was beautifully complemented by notes of cinnamon and apple, creating a well-rounded palate.

Despite their high ABV, both the Uncut and Crossroads expressions were remarkably smooth and easy to drink. Among the four, Crossroads was my favorite. The combination of the cinnamon and honey notes were fantastic. Following as my second favorite was Juke Joint, which offered a light and easy drinking experience.

These whiskies are incredible. I am completely amazed, especially considering the price point. If you are looking to try a new bourbon, this one would be a good option. The combination of affordability, quality, and ease of drinking is quite remarkable. These whiskies offer excellent value and to me are worth exploring.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
