Very recently a friend of ours sent us this little gem. Thank you, Mike! ETL is an allocated bourbon and has a msrp of $54.99 but sadly most must look to the secondary market to find it.
Nose: vanilla, leather, and cloves
Palate: spices, vanilla, and honey
Finish: spices and warming finish
This whiskey is solid. It’s delicious and encapsulates what good quality bourbon should be. It’s filled with vanilla, honey, and spices. The bite at the end is rugged and perfect because as soon as you feel that burn it slips away. Warm hug complete. Time for the next pull.
The issue with this whiskey is that it’s so hard to find that when you do see it, the price tag could potentially be upwards of $450. That’s an insane price!
Here is what I think, this whiskey is great but it’s not $450 great. I guarantee you that you have good whiskies on your shelf that can be as good as this one. So, in conclusion, if you find at msrp or have a friend like ours, you are winning. If you don’t, back away and save your money.
Cheers!
