George Remus Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

This George Remus bottle was the last bottle I got through my Flaviar membership which ended last month. It’s named after renowned prohibition bootlegger George Remus. Although the label indicates that it’s a Kentucky Straight Bourbon, this whisky is MGP and is distilled in Indiana.

Nose: vanilla, oak, and sweetness
Palate: vanilla, caramel, and pepper/spices
Finish: lightly sweet and spiced

This whiskey is not bad, it’s exactly what I would have expected had I purchased at around $40. It’s lightly sweet with notes of vanilla but you also get spices that lend themselves to pepper notes.

For the price, this is a great buy. It’s not going to blow your socks off but it’s a smooth enjoyable sipper you will enjoy on its own or in a cocktail.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
