So, this is my second time trying a King’s Creek cocktail. The first one I tried was their Whiskey Cider, and honestly, I found it a little too sweet for my taste. Because of that, I was hesitant when I saw this one. I was concerned it might have that same overly sweet profile. Still, with how hot it’s been lately, I decided to pick up a bottle and see how it would hold up on a hot summer day. So, let’s get into it.

King’s Creek is a brand primarily sold at retailers like Total Wine and is bottled by Universal Brands in Princeton, Minnesota. I purchased this 750ml bottle for $16.99. The bottle yields about 12 servings, which works out to roughly $1.50 per cocktail. Compared to bar prices, that’s pretty darn good in my book. This cocktail is bottled at 15% ABV and uses their 4-Year Tennessee Whiskey as the base.

I chilled this cocktail before serving, and honestly, it was much better than I expected. Even my husband, who typically doesn’t enjoy these types of ready-to-drink cocktails, thought it was pretty good. On the palate, I got a light sweetness that wasn’t overwhelming, followed by notes of vanilla and lemon. Overall, this is a solid cocktail.

The pros for me are that it’s tasty, not overly sweet, and very affordable. The biggest con is that it contains added caramel color. Because of that, I’m not sure I would repurchase it myself. However, if added coloring doesn’t bother you, this is a pretty darn good option, especially for an easy summer sip.
