Hello 2023! After all the holiday gluttony and drinking I’m kicking off the year with a healthier outlook and a dry January but, fear not, I’ve got plenty of whiskey content to fill the month.
I had the chance to try this brand while in VA back in November. My friend Sara purchased the bottle and was kind enough to share with me. (Thank you Sara)
This Kentucky Bourbon has a pack # of P2612.09, barrel #19 and its 52.5% ABV. Mash bill: 75% corn, 18% rye and 8% malted barley.
Nose: oak, leather, and spices
Palate: oak, spices, and light smoke
Finish: lightly sweet and smooth
Cost: $129 (what my friend paid)
This is a very good cask strength whiskey that’s smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. It’s filled with spices, balanced and light smoke notes. My issue with this whiskey is cost. No doubt that it’s good but, it’s not $129 good. This is not a whiskey I would run out to buy and I don’t think it’s a whiskey you are missing out on if you’ve not tried it. I’m certain you have something just as delicious on your shelf that didn’t cost as much.
Cheers!
Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
