Oregon Spirits – Straight American Bourbon whiskey

Happy New Year to you all! We are officially kicking off 2019 with my first blog post of the year featuring Oregon Spirits Straight American Bourbon.

Oregon Spirits, founded in 2009, is a craft distillery in Bend, Oregon. They source local and regional grains for all their spirits. This particular bourbon is aged for four years and the mash consists of corn, rye, wheat and malted barley.

Tasting Notes

Nose: oak and vanilla

Palate: vanilla, wood and a bit of spice

Finish: smooth and oak

This bourbon completely caught me by surprise. It is smooth, light, easy to drink and the bourbon bite wasn’t as overpowering as other bourbons. There is a slight sweetness to the whiskey that is balanced by hints of spice.

The quality of this whiskey is pretty outstanding. You can tell that they have taken good care to put out a product that is really delicious.

We purchased this whiskey at a cost of $38 and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. It is a very good whiskey that is affordable and very worth trying.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
