We are officially less than two weeks away from Halloween, so I have one more cocktail to share from the Orchard House Cocktail Kit that Compass Box kindly gifted me to celebrate the Penicillin cocktail turning 21 this year!
If you haven’t seen my Smoky Apple Collins recipe and review, you can find that here on my page. But today, we’re making a Monster Penicillin. Let’s get ready to pour!
Monster Penicillin Ingredients:
1.5 oz Orchard House
0.5 oz ginger liqueur
0.3 oz The Peat Monster
0.67 oz lemon juice
1 tsp honey
Recipe: Add all the ingredients to a shaker with ice, give it a good shake, pour over ice, and voilà, the cocktail is ready! I garnished mine with a dehydrated lemon.
This cocktail is delicious as well. The lemon juice adds a bit of tartness, while the honey brings in a light sweetness and the ginger gives it a nice zing. I also really appreciate the balance that The Peat Monster brings to all the ingredients. Even with that touch of smoke, I found the cocktail to be surprisingly refreshing.
I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again: Compass Box Orchard House is one of my favorite expressions from them. It’s light, approachable, and, to me, the perfect whisky for cocktails. Definitely worth a try!
So, if you’re looking for a Monster cocktail to try on that very spooky day, give this one a try.
Cheers!
Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend people to try it and make up their own minds.
