Milam & Greene Distillers Edition Straight Bourbon Whiskey

We were recently introduced to Milam & Greene at our friend’s house. This is an independently owned Texas whiskey, and they source their grains from across America. We got a chance to try their 21-01 batch cask strength Distillers Edition Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Truth be told, I wasn’t expecting much from this whiskey. When I approach an unknown brand, I choose to go in without expectations to avoid any disappointment.

Nose: sweetness, oak, and toffee
Palate: chocolate, spices, and lightly sweet
Finish: spices, pepper, and oak
ABV: 57.5%
Cost: $60-$100+

This was a lot better than I thought it would be but it wasn’t extraordinary. You get some bite at the first sip and then that mellows down with spices and light sweetness. To me it’s just an OK whiskey that won’t revolutionize your world. So, although good, not something you need to go out and search for. I’m certain you have something similar in your whiskey cabinet.

Cheers!
