Sagamore Spirit Rye Whiskey and Sagamore Spirit Pineapple “Ryegarita” Cocktail

Now here’s a whiskey I wasn’t sure about when I bought it. If I’m being truthful, I bought the bottle because it was affordable and because I wanted to taste the whiskey before I tried their ready-to-drink cocktail. The upside, it was a smart move. This rye is smooth. No, not revolutionary but good and pretty kind to your wallet. I bought a small 375ml bottle for $22, while a 750ml goes for just $40. I’m sure you’ve spent a lot more for rye before. But did you really like that expensive rye? If not, here’s an affordable option that could easily be an everyday sipper.

Sagamore Spirits is a Port Covington, Maryland brand. They partner with Maryland rye farmers. Sagamore rye is aged between 4-6 years and is a blend of two straight rye mash bills.

Rye Whiskey
Nose: sweet, rye and oak
Palate: orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and light sweetness
Finish: lightly sweet and nutty

Pineapple Ryegarita: (rye whiskey with lime juice, pineapple juice, agave syrup and natural chipotle flavor). I totally dig this cocktail! It’s great, but I didn’t get any of the chipotle or any whiskey. It tastes refreshing and like candy. It’s 7% ABV and a pack of 4 cost me $13.50.

Both are great. The cocktail is easy to drink and dangerous because you can’t taste the alcohol. The whiskey itself is great because you can drink on its own or use it in cocktails without feeling guilty about how much you spent on it. Total win for me with both.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
