Still hot outside so bring on the cocktails! Batch and Bottle is a brand by William Grant and Sons, the company behind brands that include Glenfiddich and Monkey Shoulder. These Ready-To-Drink cocktails are 375ml and I purchased each one for $16.99.
Glenfiddich Scotch Manhattan (30% ABV): On the nose you immediately get Glenfiddich. Served neat you get sweetness followed by the bitters. The scotch in this cocktail isn’t too overpowering. Over ice the sweetness is completely enhanced. You also get bitters with the added notes of spice.
Monkey Shoulder Lazy Old Fashioned (35% ABV): On the nose, I got all the oranges. The taste is creamy and bitter when served neat. Over ice, the bitters are very strong but not too overpowering.
I like these, they aren’t amazing but they’re good enough to be your own bartender for the night. Out of the two, I preferred the Monkey Shoulder but my husband liked the Glenfiddich cocktail better. To me the Glenfiddich was too sweet, while the Monkey Shoulder was far more bitter so…. it all depends on what your palate is looking for. I can honestly say, the whisky volume on both isn’t too bad. You are getting more of the cocktail taste as opposed to the strong whisky notes.
Cheers!
