Now here’s a whisky we purchased back when we were in Scotland about 5-6 years ago. Oddly enough we opened it up this past week because we had forgotten we even had it.
Hepburn’s Choice is another independent bottler. This particular whisky was finished in wine casks and was bottled by Langside Distillers.
Nose: fruit, oats and berries
Palate: apples, grapes and chocolate
Finish: malt and cranberries
You can tell right off the bat that this is a young whisky. But, what’s surprising, how smooth it is. I was expecting more of a raw taste but you don’t get that at all. It’s light, fruity and crisp. It’s a pretty darn good dram.
Cheers!
