So, I was pleasantly surprised to see all the bad reviews for this small batch. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! The whiskies I enjoy will not be enjoyed by others and vice versa. That is the beauty of whiskey.
Here’s what I have to say, this whisky is not revolutionary, it’s no frills and will not blow you away. It’s a solid and affordable whiskey that is nice on its own or in a cocktail.
Nose: oak, caramel and vanilla
Palate: nutmeg, wood, spices, light smoke
Finish: toasty and lightly sweet
Cost: $27
Now a days it’s hard to find a solid whiskey under or right around $30. This is one of them and for this price, it’s absolutely worth the try.
This whiskey is smooth, warm, lightly sweet with light smoke notes from the charred oak barrels. It’s a simple, every drinking whiskey that is a quintessential bourbon.
Cheers!
