You no longer have to fly to Kentucky and visit the Maker’s Mark distillery to try their signature bourbon at a higher proof. For a limited time only… or so they say, Maker’s Mark is releasing this bottling during their annual holiday release to liquor stores. Maybe we can thank Covid for that.

The whisky has an ABV of 50.5% and we purchased our bottle for $39.99. This is an excellent price for a higher proof whisky.

Nose: oak and spices
Palate: creamy, caramel, vanilla and fruit
Finish: smooth with ending notes of spices

If you’re a Maker’s fan you will definitely enjoy this. It’s the classic whiskey just a bit stronger. Even at the higher proof this whiskey is still smooth, creamy and full of spices. It’s a great dram to have; especially during the holidays as it has a lovely warming effect.

I will always choose a higher proof whiskey over one that is lower. Buying this whiskey for me was a no brainer. It’s affordable, tastes great and it’s quality. If someone in your life loves this brand or bourbon in general, this would make for a great holiday gift.
