Happy Thanksgiving! Before you gather with a smaller group of loved ones this year, I wanted to share a dram with you all. It will just be me and my Fiancé for Thanksgiving this year; so he surprised me with this Nikka Whisky, so let’s get right into it.
This blended whisky combines both malt and grain whiskies produced from Nikka’s Yoichi and Miyagikyo Distilleries. The name says it all as this whisky is bottled at cask strength with an abv of 51.4%.
Nose: oak, fruit, vanilla and malt
Palate: cinnamon, vanilla, caramel and toffee
Finish: creamy, vanilla, spices and warm
This is an absolutely beautiful dram. It’s creamy, smooth and very warming. It’s a whisky that is absolutely perfect for this time of year as it reminds me of all those wonderful Christmas notes.
This cask strength whiskey doesn’t punch you in the face with alcohol. It’s delicate, balanced and lightly sweet. The bottle we purchased was priced at $74. Personally, I don’t think that’s a lot for a good quality whisky, especially a cask strength.
There is something special about this whisky and if I had one negative feed back is the bottle opening. No matter how hard you try to properly pour this in a glass, it will spill some how. Aside from that, it’s amazing and definitely worth they try.
Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours.

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
