Bondstone Double Oak and Toasted Barrel Whiskey

Bondstone is a brand I’ve just discovered, and it’s from a relatively new distillery. IJW Distillery sources barrels and blends them into unique expressions—and I’m here for it! I’m obsessed with mini bottles, so when I spotted both the Double Oak and Toasted Barrel, you know I had to grab them. Let’s check them out!

Bondstone Double Oak Bourbon: We picked up a 50ml bottle (45% ABV) for $3.99.

Nose: Notes of vanilla layered with oak and warm spices.
Palate: A balanced mix of spice, vanilla sweetness, and a hint of pepper.
Finish: Light heat with lingering pepper on the back end.

Bonstone Toasted Barrel: We picked up a 50ml bottle (45% ABV) for $3.99.

Nose: Rich oak with hints of char and a touch of vanilla.

Palate: Warm cinnamon, gentle sweetness, and layered spices.

Finish: Smooth and light, with lingering spice notes.

Both pours were solid, but the Toasted Barrel stood out as my favorite. It’s lighter, easy to sip, with minimal heat and a pleasant mix of baking spices complemented by a touch of sweetness. The Double Oak, on the other hand, leans bolder with pronounced pepper notes. Overall, I’m intrigued by what Bondstone is doing and excited to see future releases. My tip? Grab the minis first—they’re a great way to sample before committing to a full bottle.

Cheers!
