UPDATE: Glenmorangie A Tale of Forest

Back in November 2022, we picked up A Tale of Forest. Fast forward to today—the bottle’s empty, and the question is: Does it still live up to our first impression—and would we buy it again? Stick around to find out! First, a quick refresher on the tasting notes.

Nose: pine, juniper and light smoke
Palate: bitter, oranges and licorice
Finish: bitter, oak and lemon
ABV: 46%
Cost: $99 (what we paid)

In my initial review, I mentioned that this wasn’t my favorite—and that still holds true. Is it a bad whisky? Absolutely not. But it’s not for everyone. It is herbal, with pronounced notes of bitterness and orange. So far, my top picks from this series remain A Tale of Spices and A Tale of Ice Cream, in that order. Would we buy this one again? No. However, what’s impressive about the series is its diversity—there’s truly something for every palate. If you enjoy herbal spirits, this might be right up your alley.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend people to try it and make up their own minds.
