Recently, I had the opportunity of sampling Nassau, a German Single Malt Whisky. This whisky is crafted in the historic Henrich Habel Distillery, established in 1878. Now let’s dive in.
Nose: oak and sweetness
Palate: honey, malt and light smoke
Finish: sweet and hints of smoke
Cost: $59.99
ABV: 40%
Let me begin by sharing what I enjoyed about this whisky. As someone who appreciates smoky notes, the subtle hints of smoke throughout the dram were fantastic. However, I wouldn’t seek out this whisky again. It tastes quite young, and at nearly $60,there are better options available. It’s not terrible, but it’s also not great. On this one, I truly recommend trying before purchasing.
Cheers!
