Kings Creek Black Label Tennessee Whiskey Cider

I’ve wanted to taste and write about this whiskey mainly because it seems perfect for this time of year. I added a bottle to our cart during a recent trip to the liquor store. Shortly after, I noticed a salesperson pouring samples of Kings Creek. Keep reading to see if the bottle made it to the checkout.

Nose: apples, nutmeg and oak
Palate: cinnamon, apples, cooking spices and cider
Finish: spices and sweetness
Cost: $16.99
ABV: 15%

Personally, this is a fantastic price for the product. But I know you are wondering; did I end up purchasing a bottle after I was able to sample it. The truth is, I didn’t end up buying it. Although not horrible, it’s not a whiskey for me because it leans sweet. I simply don’t enjoy drinks or anything that is super sweet and to me, this is very sweet. What I did appreciate, the fact that the whiskey notes are muted, and you get those moments where you do taste cider before that sweetness kicks in.

To be fair, I didn’t try this over ice and only tried it at the store, so my review is only based on that factor. If you love sweet cocktails or drinks, this is for you. If you don’t, even at this price, not a product I’d recommend.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
