Now this is a brand I walked by a million times and never even thought to even try. It wasn’t until recently that we got a chance to sample and well, I have thoughts.
Buchanan’s is a blended Scotch that was launched in 1884 by James Buchanan. The idea was to create a smooth blend to be shared and enjoyed by all.
Nose: zest and pineapple
Palate: caramel, vanilla, citrus and pineapple
Finish: smooth and lightly sweet
ABV: 35%
Cost: $30-$35
This blended whisky was surprisingly a lot better than I thought it would be. It truly did shock me on how much I like it. It’s smooth, fruity, with the right amount of sweetness. This would be perfect for those who don’t particularly like whisky and those looking for lighter and easy to drink Scotch. It is great on its own, over ice and in cocktails.
After sampling this we purchased a bottle to give to our sister-in-law and she loved it so much she’s already on to her second bottle. I will say, if you’ve never had it and you want to buy it, do look up how to pour. It took six of us and YouTube tutorials to figure out how to pour. So, be prepared, but it’s worth it.
Cheers!
Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
