Bowmore 17-Year Warehousemen’s Selection

Yes, it is still too warm outside for whisky but after we stuffed ourselves silly yesterday, we cranked the AC up and drank a dram of our Bowmore Warehousemen’s Selection to help ease our stomach. This is a distillery exclusive bottle we acquired during our visit to the Bowmore Distillery. Only 3000 of these were produced and our bottle number is 2520.

The Warehousemen’s Selection is the final release of their Craftsmen’s Collection. It was a series that honored all the workers who help produce their whisky. It is aged for 17-years, distilled June 14, 1999, and is matured in Bourbon, sherry and wine casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose: spices, smoke, wood and sherry

Palate: vanilla, spices, fruit, orange and macadamia nut

Finish: light smoke

This whisky is outstanding! It is smooth, creamy and filled with layers of complexity. It is balanced and crafted quite beautifully. It saddens me that they only made 3000 and that you are only able to get it in the distillery. Anyone who is a Bowmore and Islay whisky fan, would absolutely love this expression. It is Bowmore at its best and if you come across it, I would highly recommend trying.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
