Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Sunday nights have become a bit of a bourbon night for my boyfriend and I. For the last couple of weekends we have sat down to watch Game of Thrones with a dram of Bourbon. Last night it happened to be a bourbon we had not tried before but had heard so much about, Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

What some people may not know is that Buffalo Trace produces a lot of other well know labels, to name a few, Pappy Van Winkle, Eagle Rare, Elmer T. Lee and the George T. Stagg are among their labels. They also happen to produce my absolute favorite bourbon, Blanton’s Single Barrel.

This Buffalo Trace bourbon is their signature bourbon whiskey and it simply made me happy. It’s a quality product that tastes great. I am certain anyone who is a bourbon fan knows about Buffalo Trace and its reputation of making quality bourbons.

Tasting Notes
Nose: oak, caramel and spices
Palate: vanilla, oak, toffee and spices
Finish: ending burn that is very delightful

Blanton’s is still my absolute favorite, but gosh, this is some good solid bourbon. If the taste alone isn’t enough to win you over let me tell you, the average cost for this bourbon is around $25. In my opinion you can’t beat that price. I’ve paid more for crap bourbons and regretted it afterwards.

Overall there is so much depth and complexity to this bourbon. It’s starts of smooth and then it has a nice rugged finished which I very much enjoyed. There are so many flavors you get at once yet its a fully balanced whiskey. I think this bourbon could also make a mean whiskey cocktail.

The amount of quality in this product is absolutely amazing. Let’s be honest, everyone’s palate is different so I can’t guarantee that everyone will like it but this is a whiskey that is so affordable that even if you don’t you like it you aren’t breaking the bank. I love it and I highly recommend trying.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
