If you’ve ever wondered what the difference is between a Rob Roy and a Manhattan it’s all in the liquor. A Rob Roy if made with a Scotch while a Manhattan is usually made with a Rye Whiskey. Very recently I discovered that Whisky Magazine had whisky cocktail recipes on their site (http://www.whiskymag.com/cocktails/). This is where I found this Rob Roy recipe that is extremely easy to make and a great cocktail for any dinner party.
What you’ll need:
0.75 ounces Vermouth – Sweet (I used Noilly Pratt Rouge)
1.5 ounces Whisky – Scotch (I used Jura Prophecy)
Dash of Angostura Bitters
*I added a couple Maraschino cherries in the end
What I enjoyed about making this cocktail was the whisky I used. The Jura Prophecy gave it a nice smoky taste to it and made it extremely enjoyable. You can use any scotch you like; however I think a smoky whisky gives it an added extra oomph to it. View the video to learn how to make it.
Cheers!
