UPDATE: Glenmorangie A Tale of Winter

Even though spring has officially arrived, the temperatures here on the East Coast still feel decidedly wintery. While we’re still enjoying a whisky before the warmer days finally show up, I wanted to share an update on the Glenmorangie A Tale of Winter. We recently had the chance to finish the bottle, which we first picked up back in January 2022. But before I get to the updated notes, here’s a quick reminder of the original tasting profile.

Nose: Marsala, oranges and honey

Palate: cocoa, toffee, and nuts

Finish: lightly sweet, cloves and cinnamon

Cost: $99.99 (what I paid)

In my original post, I mentioned that it was good but not particularly unique—and I still feel the same. It’s a solid whisky: warming, lightly sweet, and full of pleasant baking‑spice notes. That said, it’s not something you’re missing out on if you don’t try it or own a bottle; you likely already have whiskies with a similar profile. I also think the price is a bit high for what it delivers. So, while we wouldn’t repurchase it, if someone offered me a dram, I’d happily drink it.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend people to try it and make up their own minds.
