Keeper’s Heart Whiskey is a brand that boasts impressive Irish credentials: its distiller is the renowned Irish Master Distiller Brian Nation, formerly of Jameson, Midleton Very Rare, the Spot lineup, and Powers. As a longtime fan of this brand, the moment I discovered they’d launched a ready‑to‑serve Old Fashioned, I didn’t hesitate—I had to try it.
This ready‑to‑serve Old Fashioned is crafted with their Keeper’s Heart Irish + American whiskey, demerara syrup, and Angostura bitters. It sits at 35% ABV, and the 700ml bottle cost us $33.
Right away, you get a hit of bitters, which then softens into hints of citrus (mostly orange), vanilla, and spice. It’s not sweet in the slightest—and that’s something I really liked. It’s also incredibly easy to drink. Will it knock your socks off? Absolutely not. But if you want a simple, no‑frills cocktail that isn’t sugary, this is a great choice, especially considering both the brand quality and the price.
Cheers!
