I’ve always been a fan of Crown Royal, and two of my favorite expressions are Northern Harvest Rye and Blackberry. So, when I came across their new chocolate expression, you can imagine I couldn’t resist giving it a try. Let’s dive in!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again—I’m not a fan of overly sweet drinks. I enjoy a touch of sweetness, but in moderation, and this one on its own is just too sweet for me. There’s chocolate in the profile, but what stands out most to my palate is the caramel. That said, I think plenty of people will love this.

Where I see this whisky really shining is as an ingredient—mixed into a cocktail, drizzled over ice cream, or even turned into a decadent sauce for dessert. So, while it’s not for me, it’s perfect for anyone who loves something very sweet or wants to experiment with those indulgent ideas.
