Absolutely—I picked this up specifically because of the collaboration between On the Rocks, The House of Suntory, and Hidetsugu Ueno, the legendary Japanese bartender behind Tokyo’s iconic Bar High Five. This limited-edition release includes two 375ml bottles: the Yuzu Matcha Martini and the Japanese Boulevardier, priced at $41.99. Let’s dive in!
The Yuzu Matcha Martini is crafted with Haku® vodka and Yuzu Liqueur, offering a 20% ABV. The Japanese Boulevardier blends Toki® whisky, port wine, and bitter liqueur, with a bold 32.5% ABV.
I genuinely enjoyed both cocktails, but to my surprise, the Yuzu Matcha Martini stole the show. The Japanese Boulevardier had a bold bitterness that was a bit overpowering for my palate—cutting it with sparkling water helped mellow it out nicely.
Now the yuzu? Absolutely phenomenal. It’s sweet, slightly tangy, and beautifully balanced. I’m not usually a yuzu fan, but this cocktail was masterfully done. This is a truly fantastic little set to pick up. The cocktails are unique, thoughtfully crafted, and worth trying in my opinion.
Cheers!
