Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry

If you’ve been following me, you know I reviewed Crown Royal Blackberry last year. So, when Jack Daniel’s dropped their Tennessee Blackberry, you already knew I had to give it a try. What really won me over was the fact that they offered it in a mini size—perfect for sampling without committing to a full bottle. Because let’s be real, in this economy, trying before buying just makes sense.

Now, how does Tennessee Blackberry stack up against Crown Royal Blackberry? Is one better than the other? Let’s dive in and find out.

Nose: blackberries and sweetness

Palate: creamy, blackberries, vanilla, and hints of honey

Finish: blackberries and oak

ABV: 35%

Cost: $3.49 (what we paid for a 50ml bottle; $24.99 for a 750ml)

Let’s be clear—this sip is bursting with sweet blackberry flavor from start to finish. You catch it on the nose, in the first taste, and it lingers on the back end. It’s undeniably blackberry-forward. Personally, I find it quite like Crown Royal Blackberry.

So, which one’s better? That really depends on your taste. Both are sweet, but here’s the difference: Tennessee Blackberry leans more syrupy, while Crown Royal Blackberry, though also sweet, has a subtle tartness that helps balance things out.

If you’re all about that rich, sweet profile, Tennessee Blackberry is your pick. But if you like a touch of tart to cut through the sweetness, Crown Royal Blackberry might be more your style.

Much like Crown Royal, I wouldn’t drink this straight—it’s just too sweet for my taste. But when it comes to cocktails, that’s a different story. This could absolutely elevate a drink if you’re aiming to add a blackberry or fruity twist.

Cheers!
