Writers’ Tears is an Irish Whiskey produced by Walsh Whiskey established by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh in 1999. Writers’ Tears is meant to commemorate the golden era, 19th and early 20th century Ireland, for both Irish Whiskey and great Irish novelists, poets and playwrights. This includes Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker and W.B. Yeats, to name a few.
This Copper Pot whiskey marries both Single Pot Still and Single Malt Irish Whiskey. It is triple distilled and matured in flamed charred American oak bourbon casks.

What a fantastic whiskey! This whiskey is smooth with notes of baking spices and fruit. The fruit leans towards apples making it a great option for this time of year. It finishes off lightly sweet, spiced and with hints of chocolate.
I was very surprised by this whiskey. At this price point, this is an absolute no brainer and will make an appearance on my 2024 holiday gift guide. It’s delicious!
Cheers!
