Now here is a non-alcoholic spirit that was extremely popular because every time I went searching for it, it was sold-out. Like Monday non-alcoholic spirit, Lyre’s Highland Malt also has amazing reviews on its website, but does it really taste like Single Malt Scotch?
Nose: Oak and Toffee
Palate: vanilla, almonds, and light honey
Finish: lightly sweet with some nuttiness
Cost: $35.99 (what I paid)
To answer the question, no, this simply doesn’t taste like single malt Scotch. I had high hopes for this one but sadly this one too was disappointing; it was more water than anything else. In the initial sip you can get a slight bite and hints of promise, but you quickly lose that as the end is a complete watery mess. With that said, I prefer this one to Monday in taste and cost.
Truthfully speaking, in my opinion, unless it’s actual Scotch or Bourbon I am not sure a non-alcoholic spirit will ever be able to replicate the taste of either of these spirits. Spirits like these would be amazing for anyone who is simply not a drinker or someone who’s never tasted Scotch to have something to compare it to.
Cheers!
Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
