The Miracle pop-up has officially arrived in Cambridge, MA—and it’s bringing all the holiday cheer! For all the whisky cocktail enthusiasts out there—don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. My husband surprised me with a visit to the Miracle pop-up! We stopped by this past weekend to sip, savor, and now share our experience with you. But first, let’s talk about what makes this pop-up so magical before diving into the drinks.
The Miracle pop-up is hosted at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge, MA, and it’s open seven days a week: Sunday–Wednesday from 5 PM to 10 PM, Thursday–Friday from 5 PM to 11 PM, and Saturdays from 4 PM to 11 PM. We visited on Saturday right at opening time—4 PM—and here’s what we learned. The space is cozy, seating about 50 guests, so arriving early is key if you want to skip the line. Most guests seemed to stay for roughly 90 minutes, though that’s just our observation. The atmosphere is pure holiday magic, with festive décor, Christmas memorabilia, and seasonal music setting the tone. Light bites are available, and we couldn’t resist trying the thick-cut fries—they were delicious. Now, let’s dive into the whisky cocktails we ordered.
Snowball Old-Fashioned: A playful twist on the classic old fashioned. The presentation is whimsical and festive, but the flavor stays true to tradition. If you’re an old-fashioned fan, you’ll appreciate this one. The orange notes are bold and beautifully complement the rye whiskey base, creating a balanced and satisfying sip.
Blitzen Barrel: A bold and unexpected combination of scotch and sesame makes this cocktail stand out. It’s different—but in a good way. What we loved most was that it wasn’t overly sweet, despite the addition of honey and mead. The nutty sesame notes help balance the sweetness, creating a unique and well-rounded flavor profile.
Miracle Mouse: Featuring bourbon as its star, this was my favorite of the three. It’s fruity, refreshing, and perfectly balanced—the sweetness is just right without overpowering the drink. A delightful choice for anyone who loves a smooth, flavorful cocktail.
Overall, we had an amazing time! Even if whisky cocktails aren’t your thing, the Miracle pop-up is still a festive, fun experience and the perfect way to embrace the holiday spirit. We truly enjoyed our visit and would love to see more experiences like this in the area. If you’re looking for something new or have been considering going, we can confidently say—it’s worth it.
Cheers!
