Keeper’s Heart 10-Year Irish Single Malt

No surprise that I’m a huge fan of Keeper’s Heart. I’ve attended their tastings events in the past and this weekend they had a booth at a whiskey event we paid to attend. Out of all their offerings their newly released 10-Year expression happens to be my favorite.

This whiskey is initially aged in bourbon barrels and to further enhance its profile, the whiskey is then finished in Malaga wine casks. This finishing process adds additional layers of complexity, bringing out rich and nuanced flavors from the wine casks.

Nose: honey, biscuits and nuts
Palate: fruity, lightly sweet and nutty
Finish: oak and light honey
Cost: $100
ABV: 43%

It’s lightly sweet, with notes of fruit and nuts. It is easy to drink and honestly I think the use of the Malaga wine casks is what makes it taste great. I’ll also point out that the lower ABV content likely adds to its smoothness and drinkability, making it an enjoyable choice for sipping.

I love this whiskey and it’s my favorite expression by them to date. It’s worth the try if you have the chance to sample.

Cheers!

Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
