Glenlivet has entered the ready-made cocktail chat and have released this New Manhattan and Twist and Mix Old Fashioned. I had both today, but I’ll be talking about their Manhattan.

This cocktail is made from The Glenlivet single malt Scotch and natural flavorings. What’s neat, twisting the cap releases a mixture that goes into the cocktail. It was fun to watch.

This 375ml bottle is 40% ABV and we spent $21 for it. There are places that will sell you a single Manhattan for $21 so the price is fantastic.

As for the cocktail itself, it’s not bad. It is on the sweeter side but not sickly sweet. You get loads of cherry and ginger notes. I prefer it neat. The minute I poured it over ice it just intensified the sweetness and became syrupier. I’ve certainly had worse ready-made cocktails, this one is not bad, but also not fantastic. It’s simply, middle of the road. If you want that, this is a solid option.
