Let me start by saying that I’m a sucker for packaging. Yes, I purchased this whisky mainly because of the jar so, I’m hoping it’s good but if not, we have a swear jar.
Nose: sweet, maple and cinnamon
Palate: maple syrup, cinnamon and spices
Finish: sweet with a light burn
ABV: 35%
Cost: $25
OK, so a word of caution, the jar cap is not a twist off… you are welcome. We struggled to open but we eventually figured it out. That’s not to say it becomes easier to open but we have a system now.
On its own, this is sweet and I’m simply not a person who enjoys sweet things. With that said, the maple syrup in this whisky doesn’t taste artificial. It’s real maple syrup! That’s an absolute win but, where I think this whisky shined was in coffee. We had it in our cold brew, and it was fabulous. It added a nice nutty sweetness to the coffee.
Overall, it was better than I thought it would be mixed in with coffee. This would also be great on a cocktail. For me, I can’t do it on its own but, if you like sweet drinks, then you’ll love this.
Cheers!
