Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all! Today’s post, yes, you’ve guessed it, an Irish Whiskey, The Irishman 12-year. I’ll keep this post short and sweet. This 12-year is triple distilled and matured exclusively in first fill bourbon casks. The distillery only produces about 6000 bottles of the 12-year every year.
My introduction to the Irishman was with their Founders Reserve about three months ago. I loved the Founders Reserve! So, I won’t beat around the bush, I love this whiskey as much as I loved the Founders Reserve.
Tasting Notes
Nose: sweet, fruits, apples and cinnamon
Palate: It is creamy with notes of cinnamon, oak, and pepper
Finish: smooth with ending notes of oak and spices
This whiskey is lovely and outright delicious! It is smooth with an explosion of spices and hints of sweetness. It’s a quality product that is balanced and full of flavor. Truly a solid whiskey!
My boyfriend paid $73 for this bottle, if you are looking for a cheaper alternative I would highly recommend trying the Founders Reserve as, that is priced at around $26. However, don’t let the cost fool you, the quality of both these whiskeys is amazing even though the prices aren’t similar. They are a both must try and I would recommend to anyone.
Cheers!
PS – Wishing you all a Happy and very safe St. Patrick’s Day.
Note: The contents on my blog are solely my opinion. To me every palate is different! Although I may or may not like a product, I always recommend for people to try it and make up their own minds.
