Instagram ads got me good. I stumbled across this company through an ad, and after dropping a small fortune on ready-to-drink Old Fashioneds, I had to find out—are their syrups really the secret to making the perfect one at home?
I went all in with their Collector’s Bundle (plus the spoon). Inside are four 16 fl oz syrups: Classic Old Fashioned, Orange Old Fashioned, Maple Bacon Old Fashioned, and Maple Pecan Old Fashioned. The price tag was $94.97, but thanks to a sweet coupon, I shaved off $14.24—so I only spent about $80.13, and shipping was free!
Each bottle packs about 64 servings, but you’ll need your own whiskey. The recipe is simple: ¼ oz of syrup, 2 oz of whiskey—stir, pour, garnish. I used Sazerac Rye to try all four flavors, sticking to the instructions. Ready to see how they turned out? Let’s go!
Classic Old Fashioned: Wow—I was impressed! It tastes just like the kind you’d order at a nice cocktail bar. The sweetness and bitters are perfectly balanced, working together without one overpowering the other.
Maple Pecan Old Fashioned: Big maple vibes upfront, with pecan sneaking in at the end. It’s not too sweet, but the flavors stick around—so make sure you’re a fan of maple and pecan!
Orange Old Fashioned: Bitters run the show, with orange making a brief cameo. No sweetness here—just a bold, bitter-forward experience.
Maple Bacon Old Fashioned: It starts with a light touch of sweetness, followed by the bitters. Both the maple and bacon notes are subtle—which I really appreciate.
I genuinely love these syrups! If I had to choose a favorite, it’s the Classic Old Fashioned. My least favorite? The Orange. Still, they exceeded my expectations and made crafting an Old Fashioned incredibly easy. Another bonus: during Dry January, you can pair them with Spiritless brands for a non-alcoholic option.
Craving an Old Fashioned without the hassle? These syrups are a game-changer—definitely worth exploring!
Cheers!
